12 July 2019

I am incredibly proud of the wonderful students at DHSB and in the Head’s Blog this week are several examples of ways in which they contribute to our school community.

Today I am also sharing an update on the progress made towards our school priorities.

Please click on this link to read the full update.

Open Evening

We welcomed Year 4 and Year 5 families to the school on Tuesday evening. Following the event we received many positive comments especially about our student guides who very proudly led tours around the school.

If you missed our open evening then please come along at 9.00am on Monday 15 July when there will be another opportunity to hear about how to apply to the school and a chance to visit classrooms and lessons.

‘And Then There Were None’

Our student-led production of Agatha Christie’s ‘And Then There Were None’ attracted a full house in the Edgcumbe Theatre on both Wednesday and Thursday evenings.

The show was a great example of our culture; empowering young people to take risks and achieve beyond anything you could possibly dream of.

Well done to everyone involved and thank you for a magical evening.

The talented cast are seen here with producer and director – our Sixth Form student Fin Kinsella.

Summer Festival

Today saw our annual Summer Festival with students, staff, families and friends enjoying lots of fun in the sun during the afternoon.

There was a serious side to the afternoon too as Houses raised funds for their chosen charities and we collected items to be given to refugees (via Amnesty).

Next week is our final week of term and in the Head’s Blog I will bring you a full round-up of recent student and sports success.
